The palace got completed along with the commissioning of Kollam–Sengottai branch line. It is a single storied red-brick building with seven rooms. The architecture of Cheena Kottaram is Indo-Saracenic - generally a blend of Indian architecture, European, Islamic and Moorish architecture.
